There are 355 million arthritis patients worldwide. In Asia, one in six people suffers from arthritis, the world's number one disabling disease, at some stage of their lives. It is estimated that there are more than 100 million arthritis patients in Chinese Mainland, and the number is increasing. But arthritis can be treated very well. The purpose of International Joint Heat Day is to remind people to prevent, diagnose, and treat arthritis early to prevent disability. Arthritis is the world's leading disabling disease. In order to raise awareness of arthritis among all sectors of society, the World Health Organization has designated October 12th as International Joint Heat Day since 1996, and October 12th, 2023 is the 27th International Joint Heat Day.
