October 29th is World Stroke Day.

On June 24, 2004, at the 5th World Stroke Congress held in Vancouver, Canada, neurology experts from around the world issued a declaration calling for the establishment of "World Stroke Day". This declaration will be submitted to the World Health Organization. The declaration points out that stroke has become the second leading cause of death among the world's population, second only to ischemic heart disease. The World Stroke Organization designates October 29th as "World Stroke Day" and sets a theme for each year. Countries around the world carry out various related activities around this theme.

October 29, 2023 is the 18th World Stroke Day, and the Chinese Stroke Association has released the promotional theme and slogan for World Stroke Day 2023: "Stroke: Focus on Prevention". Aim to mobilize the whole society to pay attention to stroke, attach importance to prevention, and actively respond to the Party and government's major disease prevention and control. And initiate the "2023 World Stroke Day" national health science popularization volunteer activity.
