May 8, 2024 is the 77th World Red Cross Day. In 1948, the 20th Council of the International Red Cross designated May 8 as World Red Cross Day. On this day, the International Red Cross and its branches in various countries commemorate it in various forms to demonstrate the international nature of the Red Cross movement and the non racial, religious, and political nature of its humanitarian work.
